We have 2 different beaver colonies that meet weekly in the Jean Vanier school gym (109 Georgian Way): - Mondays from 6:00pm-7:00pm
- Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:00pm
The following leaders may be contacted regarding the beaver colonies: Beaver and group newsletters are located here: NEWSLETTERS Beaver Promise: I promise to love God and help take care of the world. Beaver Law: A Beaver has fun, works hard and helps family and friends. Beaver Motto: Sharing, Sharing, Sharing A five year old beaver is a brown tail, six year old is a blue tail and a seven year old is a white tail. The tail is attached to the back brim of the Beaver Hat. The beavers 'swim up' to cubs towards the end of the year that they are white tails. Beavers do not collect any individual badges. The entire group of beavers and leaders is called a Colony. A smaller working group of Beavers is called a Lodge. Lodges are useful for some activities like crafts and some games. When you visit your children's Beaver Colony or talk to them about Beavers, you will need to understand some of the "Beaver Lingo". The names assigned to the Leaders are taken from characters in the Friends of the Forest book. Hawkeye is the person who first noticed the beavers in the pond and is the primary adult leader. Other names include Bubbles, Rainbow, Sunshine, Rusty, Malak, Ringtail, and Tic Tac. We recommend you read the "Beaver Parents' Guide". Go to our FORMS section to view this PDF document.
